As far as I can tell seeds 1-6 are already set with the tiebreakers no matter who wins or loses. On the tie breakers, 1-0 is no better than 1-1 right? The only seeds that aren't set is 7/8, USF/Tulsa and 9/10, Uconn/SMU.

A win against Memphis or a loss by USF to SMU is our only hope of making it past the second game in the tourney. We lose to Houston without a doubt.

This is a weird thought that possibly has no credibility, but one good thing about Saturday's game at Memphis is that it gives TU the benefit of extra game condition play on this court. I don't expect a win on Saturday, but the opportunity to get game experience might be helpful preparation for the tournament.

We don’t want any part of SMU. If Whitt and Foster are back, their starting 5 is an awful matchup for TU.

Although the seeding may not reflect it, a TU win would be an upset.

Who wins the tie breaker between Houston and Cincy if they end up tied?

1-0 head to head wins the tie breaker, 1-1 means they go to the next tie breaker.

Who wins the tie breaker between Houston and Cincy if they end up tied?
I think Houston does. The two have a record of 1-0(Cincinnati) and 1-1(Houston) against Temple, which I think leaves them still even on the tie breaker? That brings it down to Cincinnati's loss to E Carolina?

Who wins the tie breaker between Houston and Cincy if they end up tied?
Houston because they would be 1-1 head to head and Houston has losses to UCF and Temple while Cincy has losses to UCF and ECU. If Cincy had beaten UCF then the winner Sunday would have had the one seed. Now, because of the ECU loss Houston has the one seed regardless of Sunday’s outcome.

You misunderstood my post that you replied to.(my fault for not including enough information) I clarified what I was referring to in the post replying to you and lawpoke above. /\

Is it possible for UCF to score the 2 seed with a Cincy loss on Sunday?

Is it possible for UCF to score the 2 seed with a Cincy loss on Sunday?
Yeah, that would happen if UCF beat Temple and Houston beat Cincy. Cincy would be 0-2 against Houston, and Temple would be 1-1 against Houston.

From AAC media guide:

Two-Team Tie

1. Regular season head-to-head results (one or two games). If the tied teams split their two games, then proceed to Step 2.

2. Each team record vs. the team or tied teams occupying the highest position in the standings. Continue down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. When comparing records against a single team or collective tied teams (before ties are broken), the following may apply:

a. If the games played against the team or group are equal, winning percentage prevails.

b. If the games played against the team or group are unequal, the following scenarios apply:

i. Most wins do prevail only if the team with fewer wins could not equal that win total if they played the same number of games. Two examples of many scenarios that do provide an advantage:
1) Team A 2-0 2) Team A 3-0
Team B 0-1 Team B 1-1

ii. Most wins do not prevail if the team with fewer wins could equal or surpass the win total of the other team. Two examples of many scenarios that do not provide an advantage:
1) Team A 1-1 2) Team A 2-0
Team B 0-1 Team B 1-0

iii. Fewer losses do not prevail if the teams have the same number of wins and if the team with fewer games could equal or surpass the loss total of the other team. Two examples of many scenarios that do not provide an advantage:
1) Team A 1-0 2) Team A 0-1
Team B 1-1 Team B 0-2

c. If an advantage is not determined, proceed to the next team or group in the standings for comparison.

d. If the tie cannot be broken after continuing down through the last team or teams in the standings, revert back to comparing records against the top teams in order and allow winning percentage to prevail even if there is a comparison of unequal games. Only then, if the percentages are both 1.000, is 2-0 better than 1-0. However, the reverse is not true no team gains advantage when all have a .000 winning percentage (0-1 is never better than 0-2).

I really think this broke my brain.

anyway to avoid UH in the second round is the best scenario, but after a loss tonight (it would be a big upset if TU won), TU will be in the 8-9 game.
