Happy Day After Clinching a Bye in the Tournament Day. This could turn into "Can do no worse than 3rd day" if SMU can beat Wichita State today in Dallas.

The game of the week though is the Cincinnati at Houston game. This will put us on the 2 line in the tourney. I am hoping for a Cougar win.

We did not move up very much in the rankings and I am sure a good reason why is Austin Peay and Colorado State took a tumble down the rankings and in there Q status. Austin Peay is now a Q4 win and Colorado State is now a Q3.

FYI Conference tourneys are starting on Tuesday so we need to be looking for bid stealers.

Fun fact! The BPI currently has us as a 13 seed. This is probably because we are currently in first place. If we are in the same spot tomorrow after todays games then I will say we have a decent chance at making the field if we get some more wins even if we don't win the tourney.

Watching the Kitty Kat game reminds me just how much I hate Houston. Just under OSWho...

Just from what lunardi said during halftime I am convinced if we win out and make it to the championship game I think we get an at large

We want Temple to stay at 135 or below to get a q2 win possibility.

Hope USF home loss does not crash them.

The at-large was a long shot after the home loss to Arkansas State. Given the formula that loss combined with the competitive American meant it was out the window. Luardi has us "in" because we are in first place right now, that's it.

I would be surprised, and will say I was wrong, if Tulsa wins out, loses in the Conference Championship and receives an at-large. If it's a one point loss at the buzzer, maybe, but it's a long shot at best.

Arkansas State, Colorado State, Kansas State and UTA mattered. It's like investing for retirement, you can not make up for not taking care of business early unless you hit the lottery.

The Arky State didn’t kill us. It didn’t help but it didn’t kill us. If we hadn’t dropped the UConn and UCF games then we would be looking real good for an at large even with a loss to Wichita State, mainly because if we won both of those games a win at temple and we are conference champs and the 1 seed.

Haith got ejected for way less that what Brennan did.
They must give graduated Technicals in the American.

So if Brennan gets really irate and says 'fk you' on a regular basis, that's what he gets ejected over. And if Haith doesn't really get irate and says 'hey that was a bad foul, I've got a problem with that call when he gets upset, then that's what gets him ejected.

Cool.

The UConn game was the one that really hurt. Dropped us 20 points in the net.

Yeah, walked in when SMU was up 50-26. It’s now 58-58 and Dennis has been on absolute FIRE since that point.

Is SMU’s normal big guy hurt? Chargois getting a lot of minutes.

Yep, that was a killer. I still think we take that if Brandon doesn’t sprain an ankle. We beat UConn and UCF we’re sitting at 22-7 and we’re deep in the at-large conversation.

If Nebraska beats Northwestern today they will clinch 13th place in the Big Ten. Does that make them a bubble team?

They are still supposed to take injuries into account but not a word about our top scorer being out.

Record be damned! Simply being from the Big 10 makes them a bubble team.

Dropping UConn and UCF definitely will keep us from being the "team hot at the right time". But where we are right now, and being realistic, that home loss will be what the selection committee will point too if it's between us and someone else. That will lead them to the blowouts and then UTA and then we are hoping for an NIT bid. Numbers don't matter, we learn that every year with the NCAA.

When we went to the Elite 8 we won early and often, our losses were to two teams. Three times to Fresno State by 6 total points and a one point loss to ORU, seven points from an undefeated season. We had an SOS of 19 and were ranked in the top 15 most of the year. This got us a 7 seed, or basically one of the 17 to 28 best teams in the eyes of the selection committee, which was a joke. The ORU loss mattered...

Win the tournament and leave no doubt but the seeding. To do that, we need 35% or better from 3 every game. I'd prefer it be from two players and not 6 for 7 from one and 1 for 13 from everyone else. We need 9 made 3's per night to open up the middle for Igbanu and the driving lanes for Jackson, Joiner, and Rachel.

The new net rankings are already out as all of the games are over. We moved up 1 spot and jumped the smoo

New bubble watch is out and they have Houston as a lock and WSU, Cincinnati and Memphis with work to do no mention of TU

Our NET is in the 80s still because our non-con opponents have been tanking lately. They say NET is just for sorting for Q1-4 wins but really we won't get a look until that improves about 20 spots. Figuring out a way to blow out Temple in their own house would be helpful, but none of it matters if we don't beat WSU on Sunday.
