Last night was a complete meltdown. Even when they jumped out to an 11 point lead, if we had just kept our heads about us we could have fought back and made this a game. Houston is a better team then we are but I do think on a neutral court we could beat them. We had them on the run in the first half so its possible for us to beat them not at the Don Rey.

We still have a good shot at one of the top 4 seeds in the Conference Tourney. Chances of an at large berth are probably gone, even though we didn't drop very far, we have to win out and get at least to the Conference Championship game for an outside chance at an at large. That said that train has probably sailed. We might have to win the conference tourney to get in the dance.

Our Memphis win has fallen so far. Went from being a Q1 blowout, to potentially falling out of Q2 into Q3. Talk about absolutely breaking a team.

After we beat them it ended up as a Q2 win for us as we put them at 41 in the rankings and for a home win it is a Q2. You are correct we broke that team and they are spiraling down quick and as long as they stay above 76 they will stay a Q2. For it to be a Q1 they have to get under 30 and that will not happen for this team.

Something is definitely wrong with the NET system, with UConn & Memphis being ranked above SMU & Tulsa. I definitely would be more afraid of playing Tulsa or SMU than I would playing Memphis & Uconn.

If the hold like I think they will, we'll be seeded 3rd & play 6 seeded Memphis in our first game in the tourney.(That matchup with Memphis will have Memphis playing angry and motivated.) The only changes I see is that SMU will be seeded 4 and Wichita will be seeded 5 and UCF & Uconn will switch as well from UCF ending up as an 8 seed, and Uconn as an 9 seed.

While there aren’t any teams in the conference that we can look at and say “they’re going to make some noise in the tournament” overall the conference is better this year. Last year we had a 300+ net team (Tulane) and a 200+ net team (ECU), at least for today every team is better than 200. Looking at the improvements in Tulane and USF (200-300+ two years ago) and the youth in the league I feel really good about where the conference is heading.

I would rather play Memphis (even if they’re angry) instead of SMU (close to home - in Ft Worth) or WSU.

IF we can get our mojo back (especially Rachal), we can beat any team in the AAC.

As long as we finish 4th place or higher, I like our chances in this AAC tournament more than any AAC tournament so far.
