ITS GAMEDAY!!!!

I have been taking a few days off for myself. I will not be watching the game today as I have an event at FedEx Field today at 2 eastern and I will be leaving 15 minutes after the game starts.

That said Tulsa travels to Tampa to take on South Florida. South Florida was our first of two conference wins this season. Lets go to Tampa and make it a clean sweep of the Bulls.

Loyola travels to Pacific for the first time this season. This is a makeup game that was postponed on January 8. LMU has played every team in the WCC this season except Pacific.

The only other game that I see worth watching is the Utah State at Boise State game. Both these teams needing a win to help keep them in the at large berth conversation.

This is one of the worst displays of basketball fundamentals that I have ever watched on TV. I believe I watched one worse in person but I will leave those grade schoolers out of this discussion.

After some awful shooting early leading to an 8 point deficit we end up shooting 55% for the half and go to the locker room up by 5. USF had 11 more shots than us that half and looking at the turnover stats they must have taken most of those on offensive rebounds. They’ve only out rebounded us by one but it’s a 7-1 deficit on the offensive boards. I think that may be due to long rebounds. They took 13 threes that half and only made 3.

There have been 101 team seasons in the history of the AAC. This year's team is #91 out of 101 teams in the history of the AAC. the only schools to ever have a worse conference winning % than us are East Carolina (twice), Tulane (3 times) and South Florida (5 times). We are in, uh, special company.

ITS VICTORY SUNDAY!!!!

Not only did we sweep South Florida but we got our first true road win of the season. Sadly there are only 4 games left in the season and the next two are on the road at SMU and then at ECU.

Today is American Athletic Conference day on ESPN. On ESPN we will have Houston visiting Wichita State and then after that Memphis visiting SMU.

The women were beat down in Dallas by 30 points. As much as they looked like a force at the beginning of the season starting 12-1 they have gone 2-7 since. All of the teams they have beat were sub 200 teams. They have dropped down to a 109 NET which is 6th on the list for the conference 1 spot above Temple

Both teams will need better scheduling for next year and will need to win the conference tournament to get into the NCAA.
