Idiotic foul by SMU on a desperation three. Tie game.

We are going to have to play better three-point defense Wednesday or else it could get ugly.

Yeah. They don’t have the shooters they had had the last couple of years. But everything usually goes wrong when we play there.

Wild game. Houston had Grimes and Hannibal the cannibal foul out. SMU doesn’t guard Sasser. But has like four or five big time weapons.

SMU pulls it out. Not enough time for Houston to shoot.

Smoo cheerleaders are goofy looking with those flag bows in their hair. Now back to the game

Sasser misses the game winner. SMOO is all of a sudden a contender. Houston not playing well right now.

SMU’s defense is just not good. But worried that they will do to our zone.

Thank you smoo. Weird, in spite of the win I still don’t find anything too impressive about them. Seriously doubt we win Wednesday, think we will beat ponies on Saturday however.

Issue is when timeout is called. Seems like they should have given it to him.

I agree with that. Looked like he was trying to call timeout before the knee touched. Ref must just be looking at the knee

So technically the timeout is not automatic, it must be acknowledged by the referee. Typically in situations like that the referee is focused hard on the out of bounds line. Most players make the mistake of only trying to call time out by signaling with their hands and not vocalizing it as well. I actually didn’t think that was a bad call.

Some of the offensive foul calls were questionable, one late on SMU was brutal.

Mixed feelings about this game. The smoo win means we’re tied with Houston in the loss column but it also gets smoo within one game of us. Of course the most important game is the next one, in this case Houston, but now the smoo game becomes much bigger.

Well we get smoo at home without a return game, so I am happy with the outcome. Plus I think we match up better with them than Houston.

This will also knock Houston out of a Q1 win for us

SMU is by far the most talented offensive team in the AAC. They score well at every position.

If they’re hot, they’ll just shoot over our zone.

Getting an early lead will be critical. They have the ability to jump on teams.

Looking at the remaining schedules, we have important road games against Houston and Wichita. But our remaining schedule is probably the most favorable, Cincinnati is about the same. Houston looks to have the most difficult upcoming schedule, at least on paper.

Here’s my thing. If you’re going to let certain things slide, like Jankovich and Sampson standing on court when their team has ball on offensive side and effectively creating an extra screen, then let little things slide that have big implications. It was close enough with no discernible unfair advantage to Houston. The officials over thought that one.

Are you sure? It was a road loss to a top 100 team by 1 pt. so not positive they will drop much.

In the end, this NET crap is irrelevant.

This will surprise no one, but our beloved TW gave TU a whole 6 column inches-"from staff reports" on a very good road win in Sunday paper, while the gooners' loss to KU gets half the front page. Just disgusting! (although Scoop does a lengthy article on Bruce Howard's career from the git-go which was nice).

SMU may have he most favorable schedule of all. The game with us is a tiebreaker and maybe even more important than that.

And the Tulsa World did not even proof it as they misnamed USF Houston in the article. But even then it may get a larger space than USF does in the Tampa paper.
