So yesterday was not the best of days. the GOI went 5-6 which isn't good especially since Tulsa lost to a team that we could have beat. Arkansas was better this day but overall I still say we have a better team. We score 78 points in a game generally that is a win not a loss.

Also on the day Cincinnati lost to toothpaste (Colgate) at home. Liberty beats Vanderbilt at home. Now that said Liberty is 12-0 now. Houston Baptist lost to Rice and I don't really know how to feel about that. lol. Kansas State laid an egg against Mississippi State. They should have won the game but let them come back on them and win.

Wichita State did beat Oklahoma and Memphis beat Tennessee. ORU beat another NAIA team lol. Its ok a W is a W ORU.

Small Slate today but 3 conference opponents in action today. NET is out tomorrow!!!

Todays Games

Oklahoma State at Houston
Sacred Heart at Central Florida
Drexel at South Florida

I wonder if ORU is considering moving back to NAIA. It seems weird to me that all of the OOC home opponents are NAIA pr DII except for Houston Baptist in the opener. Or is TU the only D-1 team that will play ORU at home?

Scheduling, especially for home games, is getting harder and harder for the lower level teams. Conference have scheduling requirement either expressly written or not. That hurts ORU, the challenges and 20 game conference schedule do as well. Some schools are finding it's even hard to get buy games away against good competition.

ORU will play whoever they can get in their gym at the lowest price. Their OOC schedule really doesn’t matter as they’re in a one bid league.

With our league in flux now I wonder if they might add a football only, remain at 11 for olympic sports and go to a 20 game round robin basketball schedule? At one point there was resistance to an 18 game schedule because people like UConn and Cincy thought the conference was too weak and they needed to schedule more big OOC games to pump up the resume. With the league getting stronger maybe it’s time.
