So this is the Postponement Edition.

With COVID-19 still in our midst we knew that there would be changes to sports this year. We have had to cut our Non Conference schedule from 13 games to no more than 7. We currently have 6 and as far as I know we are not planning on scheduling another. We will be starting our American Athletic Conference play in mid December instead of January. TCU starts their conference play today against Oklahoma. So far Tulsa has not had to do any cancellations or postponements due to COVID-19. Other teams in our conference cannot say that (Temple and Wichita State). One of those games was supposed to be today.

Now we say well that is just 2 teams. Today alone there are 25 games that were either Postponed or Cancelled. Ten have been Postponed and 15 Cancelled. So far this season, which is only two weeks old, there have been 140 games that were either postponed or cancelled. Some of these games only affected one D1 school. Most them affected two D1 schools. I put that out there to show that it looks like Tulsa is one of the programs that are doing the right thing. The virus is out there and with Flu season coming upon us this might be more prevalent and affect our college schedule.

Rick Pitino, Head Coach at Iona, said something along the lines of the fact that we might need to pause the schedule and move it to help mitigate the infection rate. There have been coaches that are saying they agree with this. There are also coaches stating that they are not worried about the teams they are more worried about spreading the disease from the officials. It was said on ESPN that some thought there might be a pause and that March Madness might end up becoming May Madness. Personally I don't think that would be a bad thing for all involved, but, like the rest of you I don't get paid to make these decisions so it doesn't matter what I think.

Wear a mask or don't wear a mask. Stay home or don't stay home I really don't care. Just think of others not just yourself.

We have a good slate of games today. We have 2 back to back games today on ESPN2 with Missouri at Wichita State followed by Oklahoma at TCU.

Today's Games

Missouri at Wichita State 1:00 p.m. ESPN 2
UL Monroe at Northwestern State 2:00 p.m.
Xavier at Cincinnati 2:00 p.m. ESPN
UCF at Michigan 3:00 p.m. Big Ten Network
Oklahoma at TCU 3:00 p.m. ESPN 2
LaSalle at Temple Postponed

That was a real good game
Hoping OU is decent this year. Hoping for signs that TCU/S Carolina was not a horrible showing. Thought Houston was a sign of that, when I didn't realize Sasser and Mills were not playing. Still holding out hope.

By the way, it appears Houston is now a Basketball school after what Applewhite & Holgerson did.

Nobody's mentioned it as far as I know. They be #7 in basketball.

Still hacked off over the fact that I can't go to Reynold's with my :bite: sign. Maybe they'll covid out on the Dec 29th home match, and it'll get rescheduled for end of season. Early March hopefully we should be coming out of the covid thingy.
