ITS GAMEDAY!!!! Tulsa men travel to Greenville, NC to take on the East Carolina Pirates at Minges Coliseum. This is a chance to get the first road win. They travel down the road to Charlotte on Wednesday. Yesterday we had a shocker as Charlotte beat FAU at home by 2. SMU has even moved ahead of Memphis in the NET as the tigers drop another 7 spots. I have to record the game as I will be in Maryland watching the Commanders vs Cowboys.

Big Winners yesterday on the NET were Charlotte (Up 17) and UTSA (Up 11). We had a lot of big losers Tulane (Down 13) Rice (Down 26) with Temple and Rice (Down 7). In the Rest of the GOI Missouri State took a fall (Down 18) after losing by 22 at Bradley. I am sure things were abnormal in Normal. Oral Roberts took a hard fall (Down 21) losing at home to Weber State 83-78 which is surprising they took that big a fall since Weber State was an 89 in the NET. I am sure they had some help falling that hard.

We have an AAC only GOI today.

AND ONE

FAU has dropped 2 out of the last 3 games. Losing to Florida Gulf Coast and now Charlotte. In true road games the Owls are 0-2. Three other teams in the conference have not won a rad game besides FAU. Those teams are Tulsa, South Florida, and East Carolina who Tulsa faces today. FAU is currently sitting with 2 Quad 4 losses and those are to Florida Gulf Coast and Bryant. The Charlotte Loss is only a Q2 loss for the owls as it was on the road. If Charlotte starts to lose games then it can go down to a Q3 loss.

GO TU!!!

The committee will put FAU in regardless. Top 10 team with everybody back from Final 4.

Vegas does not like us today. 5-6 point dogs across the board.

As I said in the alley, road wins can be scarce as hens teeth even for good teams. These recent losses for FAU, along with Bryant, may turn us into a one bid league. The committee doesn’t like Q4 losses so at the end of the season we may be looking at the conference champ only. I hope it’s us.

They did that in Memphis. SMU is going to be tough on the road.

On to the next game. Milicic is going to be a load for us to handle @Charlotte..
I think Road wins are going to be hard to come by for most teams this season, especially young ones. I think we will win out at home too.

They love Q1 wins though of a #1 seed on a neutral court.

Yesterday’s loss was frustrating and preventable. The big glaring statistic from the game was the second chance points. ECU had 13 second chance points to our 2. This feeds into rebounding and hustle. Some of both were lacking at times. We have Charlotte on Wednesday and they are going to be a tougher play than ECU.

From basketball and in Football news, today is Black Monday. Who is getting fired and who is getting retained. Tonight is the National championship with Washington facing Michigan. I am pulling for Washington. The big question is, will this be the last game for Harbaugh and will he go back to the NFL?

Lamar beat incarnate word 75-59

Alabama A@m up on miss valley 71-64 with 2 min remaining

I have no idea how Memphis' NET is so low. When you look at their non-conference schedule, they certainly went out and challenged themselves and they've only lost 2 games and only 1 "bad" loss to Villanova. The guys on the ESPN broadcast yesterday were just flabbergasted at how their NET was so low.

Three of the four ranked teams when they met are now at 39, 54, & 106. They lost to 33(villanova) & 67(Ole Miss). That all might have something to do with it. They played a schedule that was very overranked early & now it shows that. Clemson is their only top 25 win at 23.

Too many close games, not enough blowouts. Compare them to BYU, who's currently 4th in the NET with two Q1/Q2 wins and multiple 40-points wins over cupcakes. This was one of the unfortunate tradeoffs moving from RPI to NET (along with the complete lack of transparency in the formula). It's no longer enough to win big games, you also need to win games big.

How does Kelvin get in the top 10 in offensive rebounds each year. Does he only recruit players who are rebounders or is someone on his staff teaching that. Or does he threaten them with their life if they don’t?

I think it’s a culture thing, maybe the number one emphasis. When I looked at our current roster I thought we would be a good rebounding team as Konkol brought in a bunch of long athletic player which is typical for a Kelvin lineup. Konkol seems to emphasize half court defense higher than rebounding.
