Games of Interest (1.27.20) Post Temple Edition

I know the game yesterday was painful and I do think it hurt us in our bid for a tourney. The only solace I have is that the conference is keeping up their rankings better than years previous. I do, however, feel that we have to win out and get to the Conference Championship game to have a shot if we don't win the tourney. That will give us more Q2 games and at least one more Q1 game.

Today should have been a great slate of games but Covid strikes again.

Houston and Tulane are postponed due to Covid within the Green Wave Program
Temple and South Florida postponed due to Covid on the Bulls program which is how our game with Temple got moved up per the conference
Wichita State and Cincinnati are postponed due to Covid on the Bearcats program

Every year we say we have to win the conference tournament to go to the dance including last years tri champs

Well it is the easiest way to get in. I am sure that we would have gotten a bid last year as long as we got to the finals even if we didn’t win tournament. I do say that I really think we have a shot still, but we have to win the rest of our remaining regular season games and get to the finals of the tournament. Even if we don’t win the tournament if we do that I believe we squeak in. If we lose to ECU Saturday then we might be screwed.

It is not just about winning and losing. It is also about convincing wins and close losses. We have few of either to date and need to change that a lot if we want to dream of making this season salvageable.
