We’ll need to limit turnovers and hit free throws but there’s no reason we can’t win this one.

Temple entered the chat: Houston is winnable
Temple is way more capable of playing good basketball this year than we are and Houston played their worst game of the season offensively. We do not play near the level of defense to make Houston look bad like that.

Sorry, just trying to be realistic.

Never said we would beat them but any given day anyone can beat anyone. Look at Central michigan taking out Michigan and then getting molly whopped by the sisters of the poor.

Realistically we are a much better team than when we played Houston the last time.

Next season, with Houston, Cincy & UCF gone, I think we will be pleasantly surprised
by a few things....

1) How competitive almost all of the new comers will be.....

2) That a good half of the conference teams will still be in the race for the conference
championship late.....The conference will be more evenly balanced than it has been in
a long time.....

3) If we can come up with two or three of the right recruits, we might well be one of
those contending.......Whoa!!;)

It's only been the last year or two where the leader of the conference has been head and shoulders above everyone else. Even the years when Wichita St was really good, the top half of the league was always pushing them and capable of winning. See us in 2019-2020. Houston the last 2 years has just been that good. The rest of the league is pretty balanced.

FWIW, I think Houston is the only one of those 3 that will even come close to finishing in the top half of the new Big XII. UCF and Cincinnati will finish in the bottom 4 of the conference most years

I don't think Cincinnati will be happy with this coach much longer, and find one who will move them into the top half.

Maybe we can get three Temple players ejected next time instead of two. But I’m not sure Dunn even played here.

I don't care a damn bit about that school. I'm glad they're leaving and hope they're cellar dwellers for years to come.

the new schools are a lower tier of competition that we should beat regularly.

ITS GAMEDAY!!!!!

Tulsa Women host the first place USF Bulls at the Reynolds center this afternoon. Tulsa is coming off their first conference loss of the season and hoping to give USF their first loss. A win today would really boost the program.

Yesterday was a hard loss. We just had a bad shooting day. I cannot say that ECU is better than Tulsa but they executed better than Tulsa down the stretch.

In other games, #10 Texas beat Oklahoma State 89-75

Todays games

AAC heavy day today along with Loyola Chicago at Duquesne

Houston is coming off their loss to Temple head to Orlando to take on UCF. Tulane is in Wichita after losing to Tulsa this weekend.

And One

This afternoons game features the #1 vs #2 teams in the AAC. They are not the top 2 in the NET in the conference but they have the better records. Last season in the last 10 game stretch Tulsa went 3-6-1 (the 1 is a cancellation) and were 14-5. With their loss to Tulane they are now 15-4 and hoping to pull it out over USF. Hopefully, even if they lose they do not repeat the record from last year. Tulsa lost a close one, 66-63 to USF in Tampa last year. This time its in Tulsa.

GO TU!!!!

TU women lost to South Florida and was outmatched the second half after keeping it close through the first half. The women were also down two people in Ahrray Young and Jessika Evans. Both of these ladies are big contributors. We might not have won but It could have been closer.

Last night Houston beat UCF 82-71, Temple continues its winning ways by edging USF 79-76 in overtime and Tulane beat Wichita State 95-90 in overtime.

I watched most of the TU women's game. Defending and rebounding in the post and living on the outside shot are still the things TU has to figure out when they are playing a team like USF. We just couldn't defend them at all when they got inside...which was anytime USF wanted to come inside. And our offense looked like a lot of the 4 out 1 in, except the 1 in almost never touched the ball.

I did watch bits and parts of the other 3 games you mentioned. Houston looks tired...like the expended a whole lot of energy in the first 20 games of the season to get to where they're at. They're still better than everyone else in the league, but they're not running teams out of the gym right now. Temple had the typical let down after beating #1 and barely scraped through against an awful USF team. Wichita State blew a big early lead against Tulane. Our win against Tulane is pretty impressive. I think Tulane is a top 3 team in the AAC right now (they're better than Cincy IMO).

Oral Roberts beat the brakes off of Denver by like 40 points and moved up to 47 in the NET.
ORU will lose Abmas and likely Mills this offseason and go back to below mediocrity.

They hit the jackpot with Abmas and that'll go away soon.

Todays games

Only one game today as Detroit Mercy travels to Robert Morris.

Tomorrow even though it isn’t game day I will start a new thread as there is a lot of games being played.

And One

Talking about the tournament in March, I am a firm believer that none of the 16 seeds should have to play in the first 4. These teams won their conference and should be in the 1st round and not have to go to Dayton. The “Play in” games should be for 11-14 seeds.

With 45 days until Selection Sunday this is what the Bracketology looks like

Houston – 1 seed in the West
Florida Atlantic – 8 Seed in the Midwest
Memphis – 10 seed in the West and Last 4 Bye
Oral Roberts – 12 Seed in the West

Conference Breakdown

Big 10 – 9 teams
Big 12 – 7 Teams
ACC – 7 teams
SEC – 6 teams
Big East – 5 teams
PAC-12 – 4 teams
Mountain West – 3 Teams
American – 2 teams
West Coast – 2 teams
The rest have 1 team.

GO TU!!!
