ITS GAMEDAY!!!
Last night the Tulsa Women took a loss to USF that they could have won. They moved up 3 spots in the rankings to 84 and USF dropped 2 spots to 41. Two of the ladies losses are within 5 points. The only blowout and it was a blowout was to a Houston team that got smacked hard by 15 points at home to Cincinnati. The ladies have not been able to beat a decently ranked team yet, except for Memphis, which they barely won. They still face UCF in the regular season finale. The rest of the teams in the conference are a lower raking then they are. They are still 12-3 though so good job.
The Men travel to Cincinnati tonight to take on the Bearcats at 8 p.m. on ESPNU. This si good so some don’t have to struggle with the ESPN+ thing lol. This team has just not found a way to close out games. If we had then this would be a different conversation. Lets get ourselves a road win this evening. Cincinnati is coming off a two game winning streak beating ECU at home and then Wichita State in the roundhouse. Wichita State and Tulsa are the only two teams in conference to not have won a conference game.
The only other game of note is SMU traveling to play Memphis who has dropped two in a row with a 10 point loss to UCF and then allowing ECU to come from 19 points down to win by 1 at the buzzer. That was an exciting game.

You would expect a Tulsa team that has a 12-3 record right now should be a shoo-in for an at large spot for the NCAA tourney. In the latest Bracketology projections, this Tulsa squad is not on it, not even on the bubble. The First Four Out are Boston College (47 NET) 12-5, USC (61 NET) 9-5, UMass (50 NET) 14-4 and Gonzaga (33 NET) 12-4. All of these teams records are worse than Tulsa’s. The difference is who they have played. Now that said the list was updated 5 days ago but what has Tulsa done in that time? Lost to a USF team that has been falling out of the rankings.
I am pulling for the ladies to win their games but they need to start winning more convincingly and efficiently and not get blown out by 13 points to a 9-9 Houston team. Right now USF and UCF both have spots in the bracketology. UCF at a 10 seed with the AQ and USF in the 6 seed as an at large.
The scheduling has benefitted them on getting confidence and a good record but in terms of an at large bid...the schedule is hurting them.
