TU had the effort to contend with UAB tonight but could not contain a potential NBA first rounder Yaxel Lendeborg who had 28 points and 13 rebounds and 6 assists and no turnovers. Clearly the best player in the AAC. TU rebounded very well but lost all chance by opening the second half with 0-7 from the free throw line. A lot of good effort extended but UAB clearly the better team and would win 10-10 times we play them. Apparently they have mostly seniors and I can't find a portal transfer on their roster. They must have wagon loads of NIL money to keep those players there.
Most say Kennedy is by far the best coach in the American and his continual shifting of defenses and set plays were superb. Our defense was good but not to that level. Amadi was sick but otherwise at full strength.
