You never know. Remember Tubby’s 1st year at Memphis and this year to an extent were wrought with distractions and dissent from within the program because Pastner invited the Lawsons’ father into the mix so he could get them to commit. That’d be like Steve Alford actually wanting Lavar Ball to be around UCLA just so he could have his kid as part of the program. He had the good PF who transferred out, then the Lawsons’ leave along with losing a couple of recruits.
He comes here and I bet the attendance is better instantly, he lands some players that would be helpful and maybe better, and there’s probably a fan base that’s a little more forgiving while he is cleaning up the 9 member senior class mess he would have inherited.
