Finally!!

Local TV station said last night he automatically gets in. Something to do with being the only Old Time nomination. That's not exactly what they called his nomination.

If Drew Pearson gets in then TU will have four former players in the NFL Hall: Bob St. Clair, Jim Finks and Steve Largent are there now. That would mean that little TU would have as many NFL Hall of Famers as OU (2, Tommy McDonald and Leeroy Selmon) and OSU (2 Thurman Thomas and Berry Sanders).

Some may dispute Jim Finks because he is in the Hall for his Executive work. Note I stated four former players. Finks played QB at TU. He also played QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the early 1950s. He is one of the reasons that the Steelers released Johnny Unitas in 1955.

This is a historical point that I find interesting. It shows the importance of the TU program when looked at on a longitudinal basis.
