Elijah Landrum

What does that tell you about the situation at SMU where Landrum was Shake's back-up this year and Shake is leaving? SMU may bring in some other kid that can be a starter by Landrum still stood to get good minutes as a SO. Think kids are seeing that Jankovich is a fraud as a coach?

Bwahhahahahahahahahahaha. Wonder if he sits out a year and comes home or maybe ORU?

I didn't see much from him in the SMU games I watched. Heck, they didn't even really have him run the PG position when Shake went down. There were a couple of games where he hit some threes but it was really sporadic.

Side note: Feron hunt moved up a few notches(135) and became a 4 star.

He hit threes against us. He played a lot after Milton got hurt.

We have a lot of people complain about recruiting, but I sure like our roster a lot more
than what SMU and now Wichita have coming back.
Re Landrum:
The reason I liked him early in the recruiting process was his speed...In watching
him play, his skill set isn't complete enough, nor consistent enough, to earn him
much floor time....Obviously, speed sitting on the bench isn't much help......

The exodus out of SMU seems a little quicker than we thought....The exodus out
of Wichita, if that's what it is, is totally unexpected...They were 'good' last year, but
not nearly as dominant as they were in the MoValley...

Speaking of our roster, we really have quite a few people we are counting on that
we haven't seen play yet....Horne, Moore, Barnes, Hewitt, and Falokun all are
counted on, to varying degrees, to make a contribution this year....None are
freshmen, and all except Falokun have been on D-1 rosters....This will be an
interesting process.....

Yeah, it seems that has become a regularity that we are depending on several players we haven't seen play. Mystery to be resolved each season.

The problem lately is we play all 12 players equally the first three games and lose two of those games. Just once I would like to see a set rotation of 8-9 players ready to go on day one. That is what the pre-season is for.

And how! We need one of those international trips desperately.

So why were there all those rumors about Marshall leaving WSU? What’s up with that?

I haven’t heard about that. Where would he go to?
Any one of the powerhouses that still haven't hired anyone? Chicago State, Delaware State, Detroit, Florida International and Siena. I can see his interest in any of those hot programs. Maybe he wanted to retire to Florida International.

Prolly just a bunch 'o troll rumors.

Yeah....Transfers and JUCOs have shorter eligibility cycles, so you lose more of your
players each yr....Longevity is one of the bonuses of recruiting HS seniors.....

Yeah we're playing the trifecta, trying to hit the median between one and dones and four year players without the talent of one and dones. That's only two, but I'll round up and call it a trifecta.

Women's volleyball is playing in an international event this year. Got an email asking for donations to offset the trip costs. From the picture I saw, they apparently going to Italy. Not sure the athletic dept. will foot more than 1 international trip bill for this year.

Michigan State. The fires of hell are burning more and more on that campus and recently there have been some allegations against some basketball players. I can see a scenario where Dantonio and/or Izzo don't make it through the summer. Also, there have been several NBA firings and I'm sure they will start looking at some successful college coaches. I would think Marshall might be one of those in discussion. He certainly has the personality that fits the NBA. (And with Brad Stevens' success in Boston, teams will be looking to replicate that...but most teams won't have 10 1st round picks over 6 years to reload an entire roster #Netsaredumb)

I think it also contributes to the slow starts. You have transfers who haven’t played in 16 months, JUCO guys getting used to D1 pace and a bunch of guys who haven’t played much together, and coaches trying to get to know the players’ skills and interaction. That’s a recipe for early season issues. And there’s just more of it when you have a regular dose of guys with 2 or 3 years eligibility.

The DMN gave Landrum a C+ for last season:

Elijah Landrum: C+

Like Douglas, Landrum struggled from the field for much of the season, especially from 3-point range. While he improved through the season, especially on defense, he was prone to some silly fouls and questionable decisions on offense.
