If I am not mistaken the ESPN hacks calling this game are lobbying for both these schools to be in the Big XII...

For awhile I'm not sure they even realized there was a game going on.

OU is in trouble Saturday.

I read an article last night where Boren said the Big 12 is just as likely to stay put as expand at this point. So, all this talk of who gets in might be irrelevant if they're debating whether to even expand or not.

If we lose Cincy and Houston we are screwed as we will be just waiting for the inevitable drop to a new division outside D1 which will kill our football program.:(

No I don't think so. B-12 is just as likely to fall apart as it is to expand IMHO.

GO TU!!!
Absolutely agree. I think Boren's comments represent a different approach from the totality of the networks to keep the 10 they have and still expand the $ without adding teams just to have a number of teams. I have been of the opinion as soon as this started coming out that Texas bolts if the Big XII expands at all. Someone thinks B1G, I think it is the SEC (I don't think Nebraska would be too keen on UT joining them again). Once Texas leaves, that conference is s shell of what it was and envisioned to be. OU would quickly leave the sinking ship and dragging OSU with them.

The bigger long-term fear is not a weaker AAC, but a drive to create 4 16 team conferences. TU would be a tough sell to make the final 64. That could happen if the Big XII were to implode which is why I hope the Big XII will expand by two (one being BYU) to survive. However, Dallas Morning News writer predicts it doesn't make any difference - the Big XII will not survive because UT has never been on board (as evidenced by its own LHN) - whether it stands pat, expands by 2 or by 4.

If the AAC can keep all their schools long enough for OU and Texas to jump ship from the "big 12", then maybe the AAC can raid schools from the left-over 8! That would be a best case scenario for the league!

Conference alignment for the p5 and g5. Each year the top 2 or 3 teams in each g5 conference replace the bottom teams in the p5 conferences.

They do, but aren't we talking 'amateur sports?'

Nudge nudge, wink wink...
