Revels is going to be TU's version of BeastMode 2.0Shon,
Do you consider him a better prospect than the guys we have committed at LB right now?
If so, why is that?
I personally think Robert Revels is going to be a STUD
first of all I look at the kids feet. He has good fundamentals with his first step and his reads which means the kid has been coached up well and that goes a long way. Second, the kid is violent with his hands and engages his blockers with his arms fully extended and sheds blockers well. He is not a burner with his change of direction and might struggle a bit with coverage of top talent in space but I think he overcomes that with his football IQ. He is always around the ball and brings that nastiness to the field we need. I wont really compare him to Revels bc I think they would play different LB positions in our scheme but we need as much depth as possible and he is a 3 yr starter IMO compared to the guys we have on roster. Not to mention all the advantages of taking a kid from a winning school in LA.Shon,

TU has been done at LB in the 2016 class for some time now. I don't expect them to seriously pursue any other LBs unless a current LB commit waffles...but that's not happening at the moment.Veron is a 2016 LB out of Louisiana who is barley being recruited by anybody. Have no clue what his grades or character is but the kid can flat out play and we need LB's. Any chance we can get the coaches to check this kid out?
Sorry, Shon46 played and knows what he is looking for mechanically. The only thing that doesn't come out on tape is what are things he is doing wrong? Highlight videos only focus on the positive. What was his 40 time in camp? Is that scaring some teams away? How tall is he? Sometimes, straight line sprint speed on a clock is different to what game speed is. Some kids just seem to will themselves to go faster to make a play in a game and it doesn't show up on the measurable side as much. He certainly seems to be capable of being a highly productive LB. Shawn Jackson didn't exactly have the measurables coaches look for, but he produced on the field and IMO, that's the only thing that matters in the end.In August he committed to Nicholls State but haven't seen anything else about him. While I know there are kids who progress over their college career I don't know it I would call a kid whose only offer is Nicholls State a 3 year starter.
Shawn Jackson had all of the measurable coaches looked for. Shawn Jackson didn't get offers because of his association with his cousin. It took a several phone calls to get things done.Sorry, Shon46 played and knows what he is looking for mechanically. The only thing that doesn't come out on tape is what are things he is doing wrong?
