Best player we saw all year. Late first round NBA draft pick as a sophomore. Scouts were slobbering all over each other. He had five offers out of high school in MEMPHIS. Murray State, App State, Arkansas State, Chattanooga, and Jacksonville. Pastner missed the best player to come out of Memphis that year as he did not offer a scholarship.....and did Memphis need guards this year. Payne would probably have crawled over to Memphis if asked.
