That's a stretch to call him a breakout player though. We saw last year, especially in the game vs Houston, that he is a superstar in the making and under KWs tutelage and a group of WRs that actually run routes and get open, he should be a standout in the AAC. The fact that Monty insisted on starting Brin when he was injured was just part of his downfall. It made no sense. And if you've listened to Wilson's comments on Cardell Williams, you can tell he has high expectations for him and would be comfortable with him running the offense (and may not because of the tenuous relationship with Braxton and his dad).

True , that was very hard to watch Brin playing hurt

It was no more than negligence on Monty's part. A healthy Brin should have been the guy last season running the offense. An unhealthy Brin should have been allowed the time to heal and not further injure himself and risk his future health or career prospects. Especially when a capable backup was in place that clearly was capable of running the offense effectively. Other programs manage to find a way to adapt, even with lacking backup talent.

I know Brin was a competitor and wanted to be on the field, but sometimes the decision that would best fit the player has to be made for them, and Monty clearly didn't do that, and I don't give a damn if the training staff said he could go being that we all know able to go and able to go with out further injury and effectively are to very different things on the blurry line of in season player health.

If you go back and watch the Navy game, the pass package was severely limited with Braxton in the game. And when he did throw, he was frequently forced into low percentage throws that he didn’t convert.

President was more of a passing threat than Braxton his first couple of games. Agree he was the better choice by the end of the year.

One the bigger body receivers or h back will emerge into a role we haven’t seen. Maybe a bulked up Malachi Jones, maybe Colby Powers. Could be Nick Rempert.

Braylon Presley. This pick may be a year early, but I’m looking forward to an exciting playmaker on offense.

I’m hoping he brings back memories of Demaris Johnson to TU fans! No, not memories of Dillards, but memories of a player that can possibly score any time he gets the ball!
He’s going to do great things here.
No doubt in my mind about that.

I still blame Dillard's for having that 95% off sale. It totally sounds legit if you're a college kid. Make no mistake, Dillard's had free pizza from Sbarro's out front to lure Demaris in.

Speaking of big bodied receivers, expect to see plenty of plays from tight ends for the first time in, well, decades. KDub coached this group at Oh10 St. as well as OC. Won't bother me.
Exactly. We gotta get what he needs on the roster first. Hence scheming what he does have. Big body wideouts and Hbacks.

If he starts 0ne (or two) of the half dozen TE's on the roster, it will probably be Colby Powers, 6' 4" & 234. If this kid is 3/4's as good as his brother, he's a keeper. A transfer from Azz. St. but only redshirted. Then there's the guy who gets grief from many on here for his 15 yarders: Ethan Hall (6" 3"-240). If KDub gets this kid's mind right, gets him to control his emotions and has him catching it in practice, he might start at T-E. We know he can block anybody ( it's just getting off them when the whistle blows).

But Huffy is right, it's kind of slim pickens with little if any experience at the position, at least routes and catching it.
