6-3 CG Elijah Joiner of Curie HS, Chicago, will take an official visit to Tulsa on Oct 21. Tulsa started recruiting Joiner back in the spring. He excelled on the Adidas Gauntlet AAU circuit, playing for Team Rose averaging 14.3 pts, 6.3 rbs, 3.3 asst's and 1 steal per game.
He has 20 offers, which include Iowa St, Missouri, St Louis, UAB, Illinois St and DePaul. Joiner played SG for his high school last season but played PG for his AAU team this spring/summer. He has a smooth stroke and can score on all 3 levels, using his solid frame to get to the rim and can knock down the 3-pointer with range. He also uses his strong body to be an outstanding defensive player.
Joiner led his team to the Illinois Class 4-A (largest class) title last season and Curie is expected to compete again this season for that same championship. Tulsa is also recruiting 2 of Joiner's teammates, brothers Traevon and Tyree Martin, both 6-8 PF's in the 2018 class.
