Wow! Despite just a handful of wins.
Uh… no he didn’t…. Troy Dannen hired both Willie Fritz and Ron Hunter.I hope that Konkol and Wilson do for TU the way that Tulane's b-ball and f-ball coaches have done for Tulane. Remember that Dickson hired those coaches as well.
He got them a pretty decent on campus stadium built after years of playing in an empty dome... and he saw them through the aftermath of Katrina. He also got them into the American when they hadn’t done anything on the field or hardwood to deserve it. Good on him.Dickson did good things there with fundraising and facilities but his coaching hires were duds
I guess you could use one hand last year. The only part of this I don’t understand is the student attendance. Most games it looks like you could count the students on two hands.
Last year you could count them all in one hand. 100% increase. The only part of this I don’t understand is the student attendance. Most games it looks like you could count the students on two hands.
So frequently students attend the games and will sit anywhere but the student section for whatever reason. They want to sit in chairs with backs and not on the bleacher seats (or risers now). They want to sit and not stand the whole time, etc. Many of the athletes who come to the games don't sit in the student section grabbing whatever cushioned chair back is available until an usher has to move them because the season ticket holder actually shows up. The athletic dept. needs to get the student athletes back in the student section and leading the enthusiasm. And I know they can be enthusiastic and supportive because they all showed up at soccer games and were loud and engaged in the game. Women's soccer team, volleyball, track and field, rowing, and some women's basketball and football players all showed up to the men's games I went to this season, probably 40-50 student athletes altogether...and they bring their non-athlete friends to games as well. The only part of this I don’t understand is the student attendance. This is his 1st year. Signed with Cal out of HS, played 1 yr, then transferred to Arky for 2 more.I am sure Konkol is trying hard to get more recruits it is very tough now since we haven’t done anything in 20 years. I hate to say it but ORU is passing us. I hope not for long. He knows what we need. When did that 7’5” player transfer to ORU we sure could use him
Someone should suggest to Carson and Wilson to bring back Reynold’s Rowdies. I bet they be up for that.So frequently students attend the games and will sit anywhere but the student section for whatever reason. They can track the attendance because I believe the students have their ID cards scanned to get in now. If they tracked it the old way (tickets disbursed) that was pretty simple too.
Correct. ORU found a diamond in the rough in Absmas. Had NIL become the thing it has become just 2-3 years sooner, Absmas would have been gone from ORU the same as Obanor. No they aren’t.
They’ve probably all graduated by now.Yes the Rowdies were fun bring them back
I’m okay if they’re called Reynold’s Oldies now. As long as they will make some noise! They’ve probably all graduated by now.
Just have to make sure the nerds at the collegian stay away from the student section.I’m okay if they’re called Reynold’s Oldies now. As long as they will make some noise!
They’ve probably all graduated by now.
It would be easier to restart this had it been a continued tradition. We may as well try to find some new polka dot twins. We can't recruit new football players to take the mantle? Surely we've got some football players who are big enough basketball? They could watch a 5 min highlight mix(put together by a grad student) to get the gist of their schtick. Then they add a few new tricks along the way. They don't have to do much more than be big and burly, and make lot's of noise.
I've fallen and I can't get up.Is Randy Boggs still available to spell out T U L S A
I agree, student attendance still sucks. I did notice the Canes promotion today : all students who stand up in the new student section can win free Canes chicken if the opposing team misses at least 2 free throws in the second half. The only part of this I don’t understand is the student attendance. Most games it looks like you could count the students on two hands.
Ridiculous they need to be incentivised for that.I agree, student attendance still sucks. I did notice the Canes promotion today : all students who stand up in the new student section can win free Canes chicken if the opposing team misses at least 2 free throws in the second half.
That’s a great promotion, I hope they keep that going next season. It encourages a vocal student section during the second half of home games, when you really need them there!
ORU draws a lot more people for their games and made a run in the tournament more recent than TU. Oh and they keep beating TU. So yeah ORU has passed TU. Going undefeated at home and in conference is a big deal.Correct. ORU found a diamond in the rough in Absmas. Going undefeated in the summit is a big deal...ORU draws a lot more people for their games and made a run in the tournament more recent than TU. Oh and they keep beating TU. So yeah ORU has passed TU. Going undefeated at home and in conference is a big deal.
I think that's an inflated NET from blowing out so many Q4 teams. They've lost to all 4 legit teams they've played.ORU currently has a NET of 36. They are a legit NCAA tourney team this year…as odd as that sounds.
LOL. ORU has passed TU? LOL maybe this season.ORU draws a lot more people for their games and made a run in the tournament more recent than TU. Oh and they keep beating TU. So yeah ORU has passed TU. Going undefeated at home and in conference is a big deal.

To be fair all those games were true road games for ORU. A number of those kids on that roster have multiple NCAA wins under their belt. They are a legitimate NCAA tourney teamI think that's an inflated NET from blowing out so many Q4 teams. They've lost to all 4 legit teams they've played.
For now.ORU draws a lot more people for their games and made a run in the tournament more recent than TU. Oh and they keep beating TU. So yeah ORU has passed TU. Going undefeated at home and in conference is a big deal.
