And while it is a lower mortality rate for young people and people who are healthy, it rises dramatically for those over age 65, those with compromised immune systems and those with breathing issues. I think the first 15 fatalities from COVID-19 in Washington state were all immuno-compromised seniors in an elderly care facility.
But the precaution from the league seems silly regarding a post-game handshake between teams when you're talking about them breathing and spitting all over each other in a game. Maybe not allow fans to slap hands with players coming out of a tunnel, provide hand sanitizer like you're seeing at airports and large gathering venues, etc.
