UCONN off to good start. They are playing much better than January. We should get three teams in.

We should and it'll be Temple and not us. But our resume is better.

RPI Tulsa 58 Temple 62
BPI Tulsa 59 Temple 76
KenPom Tulsa 58 Temple 89

Tulsa 8-8 against top 100
Temple 7-9 against top 100
Tulsa 2-3 against 100-200
Temple 1-1 against 100-200
Tulsa no losses to 200+
Temple 1 loss against 200+

Right, despite the talk that the entire season matters equally it is just not true.

Natili and DeRosa are racking up the fouls against the UCONN bigs but they have some in reserve that have not been redshirted. Loss of Woodson tough on Memphis outside game. UCONN shooting 78% for a team at the line is tough. Didn't realize UCONN had two graduates that transferred in for one year. Burrell cheap shot.

This is the Memphis we know and love. Playing undisciplined and out of control. Was that Burrell who should be tossed for throwing a punch?

Refs extremely generous not tossing Burrell out right there. IMO that was a clear punch towards the head area. They call Swannegan for a flagrant 1 for Oompa Loompa Moore running into his elbow, and a clear punch is called the same? This is where different standards or calls applied to certain teams bugs me.

What is it? Name?
All I've heard from the talking heads for two years are every reason why Tulsa won't get in but other teams will despite obvious and significant resume differences that favor Tulsa.

I don't think Temple gets in but if they do, it's a sign of respect to the conference that our regular season champs get in.

We had our chance to knock Temple out. Two one and one free throws missed with a three point lead in the last few seconds. No one to blame but us.

Temple gets the nod because they were league champs....by two full games among the eligible teams I have no problem with that criteria as it rewards playing well in conference. Hopefully we get that benefit in the future.

So that holds more weight than a
higher RPI, BPI, KenPom, less top 100 wins, more top 100 losses, more 200+ losses. Yeah, that's why they should get in before us.

That's not looking at the whole body of work. And their SOS is higher.

DeRosa and Natili now have 7 fouls in UCONN bigs, 4 on Brimah with 17:00 to go. UCONN does have 3- 6'10 replacements that we didn't have.

Announcers even noticing the increased number of fouls called on UCONN. Pastner still laughing and joking with refs. Ollie screaming mad.

Yes....I think winning the conference by two games will carry more weight with the committee. We will know shortly.

I've been saying that Temple (lawpoke's eye test) isn't one of the best five teams in the league. However, I think the committee will reward them for 14-4.

Tigers mounting a comeback as I type.

Do you think not having to play at SMU will be considered? It should. But the officials seem to think a Memphis win will assure 3 teams.

Why would a Memphis win knock out an AAC team? Committee doesn't take number of conference teams in their consideration. They have verbalized that many times.

UConn is lighting it up now. I can't imagine how some of their legs feel.

We could use GS's like Gibbs and Miller for one year. Instant replacements. But it takes a strong coach to insert them in front of three year players.

It'd be huge for next year's team to get a GS that could be added to starting lineup. If we got that we'd have a really nice starting 5 and wouldn't be as big of a drop off from this season as many expect.

Either team has been able to shoot an uncontested 3-pt any time they want. No one covering behind the arc.

They're urging Monmouth who is 3-4 against top 100 and have 3 losses to 200+ teams. 16-3. SOS 166. I'd love to hear the rationale for some of the teams that make it. I guess you can make a case for whomever you want in.

Does Lunardi have access to the committee? He shouldn't but with the pull of ESPN I'm sure he gets thrown some info. I just hope they do t use his logic and teams.

Lunardi missed two last year. I would think if he had inside info he would be more accurate. I assume he is able to talk to them during the season and get their rational for last year's picks.

To me, missing two at large picks is a big number.

Of the 34 at large spots, most human can pick at least 30 of them correctly.

"Bracketologists" make me LOL!!!
I agree. It's really not that difficult to pick all but 3-4 at large teams. Lunardi already missed on his #1 seeds. And only had 1 of his correct #1's in the right region.

Temple did NOT deserve a bid. Terrible OOC record and soft conf record.

UCONN & Cincy both 9 seeds! We would've made it, had we made the finals.

I've heard 2 different people who are involved in the selection process state per radio interviews this past week that the entire season is evaluated, game 1 through the conference tourney, and winning a regular season conference championship means nothing. This mindset started changing as more and more conferences stopped playing balanced schedules due to expansion. No longer a fair evaluation anymore.

Oregon St is a 7 seed? I give up. I no longer have any idea how the committee works.
