Comparing us to LSU for a bid is stupid if ESPN is plugging that. UCONN is more worthy of a bid than either of the 2 SEC teams. I just looked at UCONN's RPI stats...1 loss to #250 Houston. The next worse loss is 2 to #82 Memphis. Yale actually has a decent RPI (higher than Memphis).

Again, ESPN will do stupid comparisons to meet what they want to see. Funny thing is, why the heck should the NCAA care what ESPN wants to see in the tournament. Last I checked CBS has the tournament broadcast rights for eternity. Outside of Gottlieb CBS has been positive on us for the most part. Plus, CBS gets higher ratings when there are upsets from smaller schools and mid-majors contending. Unlike the football model which I do believe is driven by ad dollars and potential viewers, the NCAA tournament doesn't seem to follow that trend.

I completely agree.

It's so weird that it seems ESPN drives what match-ups will be broadcast on CBS/TNT/TruTV, etc.

A&M has the same problem we've got. Their 2 best wins are over LSU.

In the end, I think you're better off with 1 big win (e.g., Temple over Kansas, LSU over West Virginia) than 2 wins over another bubble team. But we'll see.

I don't see any evidence that they do care.

The fact we only have 9 wins against top 200 teams is the strongest argument against us imo. The other numbers look pretty good.

Yes, the lack on Top 50 wins and the home losses to OU, SMU and Cinn, probably hurts us the most. Now, if we win at SMU Sunday, all of this is out the window but at this point it appears, we'll be riding the fence until the very end.

Both the BPI and RPI are scewed because both rate "power 5" conference bottom feeders higher than non-power 5 bottom teams.
