Talk about finding a needle in the haystack! Going into northwest Kansas to find this kid! Great find I wish this young man a very bright future with the Golden Hurricane!

Northwest Kansas is an out of the way place to find a QB,but this guy is not a sleeper. He is highly rated. Beating out K-State on a highly rated Kansas QB is big time recruiting by Coach Monty!

Jace Ruder, a quarterback for Norton (KS), has been on Tulsa's radar for a while. On June 5th, the Golden Hurricane became the first FBS institution to offer the 2018 class standout a scholarship. In the most recent issue of Hurricane Elite Magazine, Inside Tulsa Sports named him one of the 2018 prospects to watch.

Forgot about this guy. He ended up being a 4 star QB prospect, very highly rated. Signed with North Carolina. Spent 3 years there & then 2 years at North Texas. He apparently dealt with injuries and has never been more than a backup QB in his career. Even though he has his mba, it looks like he is still planning to play in the fall.

Just reading up on him, he seems like a very good student and person, but an overrated football prospect.

He was the starter for North Texas at the beginning of 2021 for four games before he was benched, not hurt. He struggled, even with an FCS opponent. In 2022, North Texas brought in like 4 transfer QBs and the job went to some baseball guy in his late 20’s. Ruder never saw action and was never a serious consideration at the position last year. In spring 2023, the competition was wide open with new QB guru coach Eric Morris evaluating everyone on the roster. He had the opportunity to leverage his advantages - like maturity because he’s married with a graduate degree. He’s been in the program for years while the front runner was a Morris signee from the transfer portal. If you believe what the paper says and what Morris told the paper, he had much better poise and knowledge of the offense than the others and emerged as the top contender to start going into fall camp. We shall see.

So you have four posts, and three of them have said the paragraph above. What am I missing? We do have rules about spamming the board. I would love for there to be some wild reasoning that ends up making total sense...but I have a feeling that isn't the case.
