Frisco (TX) Lone Star defensive end Jaxon Lee took an official visit to Tulsa last month and has since visited Nebraska as well. The former Texas Tech commit enjoyed his time on the Golden Hurricane campus.

The early signing day was a big success for the Tulsa football coaches, who put together one of the best TU recruiting classes in the past 15 years. The class is currently rated No. 63 nationally on Rivals, which is the highest since finishing No. 59 in 2009.

Included in Tulsa’s early signing day haul were six of the top football prospects in Oklahoma. Kevin Wilson and his coaching staff beat out Power Five programs Michigan State, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Indiana, Washington State, Iowa State and Oregon State to secure in-state talent.

While Tulsa added an impressive list of 24 high school signees on Wednesday, the most immediate impact will most likely come from the transfers that are headed to TU in January. The Hurricane signed four talented players from the transfer portal, as well as two junior college prospects.

3-star Trotwood (OH) Madison quarterback Tim Carpenter committed to Tulsa on January 17. The former Indiana commit plans to sign with TU on February 7, bolstering an already impressive 2024 class for the Golden Hurricane.

The early signing period in December was a big success for the Tulsa football coaching staff, but they weren't done. TU added a number of additional D-1 transfers during the mid-year transfer window and then signed three more highly-recruited high school prospects on February 7 -- the first day of the regular signing period.
