From September 2018:

The Tulsa Football roster already includes two players from Temple, Texas, and last week the Golden Hurricane offered another talented athlete from the school. Class of 2020 wide receiver Quentin Johnston is off to a hot start in his first season as a varsity starter, and it didn’t take long for TU coaches to take notice.

Tulsa was the first FBS program to offer offensive lineman Gabe Cantu, but the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder from Tulsa (OK) Union had also been receiving strong interest from Iowa State, Memphis, Kansas, Texas State and Arkansas. After some long thought, prayer and talks with his family, Cantu felt led to commit to the Hurricane.

Spring (TX) Westfield wide receiver Malachai Jones had racked up offers from Memphis, Lafayette, Texas Southern, Abilene Christian and Central Arkansas, but he was still looking for the right fit. Tulane and Rice were also showing interest, but Tulsa was a program that intrigued the 6-foot, 177-pounder.

On July 26, Jones attended a prospect camp at Tulsa, earned a scholarship offer and quickly committed to the Golden Hurricane.

Bayne Tryon knew what he wanted in his college home. The Cypress, Texas, native got a glimpse of just that when he picked up an offer from the University of Tulsa after attending a camp on July 26. Five days later, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound tight end from Cy-Fair High School pledged his commitment to the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa Football currently has 15 commitments in the 2020 class, and with the early December signing period just over five weeks away, Hurricane coaches are searching for additional key pieces.

Tulsa's come-from-behind win over UCF came at a good time, as the Hurricane is hosting two official visitors this weekend. One is an SEC transfer, and the other is a junior college prospect.

Iowa Western safety LJ Wallace, who began his college career in the Pac-12 at Colorado, committed to Tulsa after an official visit on January 26. The 6-foot-3 and 200 pound defensive back originally signed with the Buffaloes in the 2018 class as a 3-star prospect out of Buhach (CA) Colony.
