2018 Softball 2nd Weekend

Tulsa dropped out of the Top 25, but still receiving votes in both polls.

Iowa was 1-3 in their opening weekend after going 19-32 last year.
Butler was 1-4 including a 1-5 loss to Central Florida after going 23-29 last year.
Texas A&M is ranked 6/8 nationally. They were 5-0 on opening weekend including a 5-4 win over Houston.

Weather again looks to be a factor but still need to put their big girl pants on and make a good showing this weekend.

They did not play Top 25 ball last weekend. Slow out of the gate like last year also. A lot of very close wins last year with great pitching from Watson. She is way out of sink right now. Not sure why.
The freshman pitcher will contribute. Good presence on the mound with good speed. Hitters were able to catch up and time her a few innings in due to not changing speeds or pitches.
Estecado hitting bombs is Great to see early. Hope it carries through the year. .
Kosmata handles the bat well from the left side.
Neil stroking doubles.
Most hitters showing a good eye at the plate drawing walks.
Too many pop ups.
Lack power and small ball speed.
Will miss Maggie at 3rd big time.
Infielders playing back on their heels not charging the ball.
Errors and infield hits is a problem.

What a awful display of hitting, pitching and really everything..whomever the hitting coach is should be fired today...hitting .197 as a team? What a joke..go ahead blast away..im sure some of u true diehards will

Went 1-4 over the weekend with the only win over Butler 2-1. Shutout twice. The ladies aren’t currently playing good ball.

Based on Box Score Stats. Very POOR results so far!. I think the coach has
made necessary changes for the better, moving Estocado to 3rd and playing the
freshman in the outfield that seem to be more free swingers than previous starters.
We may also need a change at catcher position. May have to take a chance on the
new comers filling obvious holes. Season still young with a lot of issues to solve.
