Tulsa was one of the first to offer Union CB Tre Brown, but according to "The Recruiting Guy" (Richard Davenport) in Arkansas, it sounds like TU is going to have a tough time staying in the race. He's on his third unofficial to Arkansas, and he has a top three of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Oregon. Two of those schools (Hogs & Ducks) offered in the last week. Brown is up to 18 offers. Here's the story....
-------------------
Highly regarded junior cornerback Tre Brown will be making his third trip to Arkansas on Saturday for an unofficial visit.
Brown, 5-10 1/2, 180 pounds of Tulsa Union High School attended an Arkansas camp last summer and visited for the Hogs' 54-46 four-overtime victory over Auburn in October.
He and other prospects are expected to take in Arkansas' basketball game Saturday against South Carolina.
"I'm looking forward to the spirit of Arkansas," Brown said. "We're going to a basketball game so I want to see what that's like because I already know what the football team is like, it gets pretty wild."
He has 18 scholarship offers, but has a top three of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Oregon. The Hogs extended an offer to Brown last Friday, while the Ducks offered Wednesday.
Brown recorded 48 tackles and 1 interception in 2015 while only seeing 8 passes thrown his way. He had 46 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 3 interceptions, 20 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble and 1 forced fumble as a sophomore.
He raved about his time while watching Arkansas defeat Auburn.
"I loved it," Brown said. "They actually talked to my whole family They explained everything. I took my girlfriend there, too. She felt like she was home, too."
Brown turned heads at the U.S. Army All-American Combine in January with a 4.35 time in the 40-yard dash. He had a best of 10.51 seconds in the 100 meters as a sophomore. He also runs the 200 and in the 400 and 800 relays.
He's been talking to Coach Bret Bielema and defensive coordinator Robb Smith and learned he's high on Arkansas' board.
"Coach B was saying they haven't won an SEC championship ever and he told me I could be key in turning everything around," Brown said. "Coach Robb Smith ... we've been talking about everything and he's been recruiting me for awhile and he's been very patient with it all. He wants me down this spring and come and watch some film."
Brown also is considering running track in college and knows that Arkansas has won more than 40 national championships.
"I was actually looking that up the other day," Brown said. "That kind of speaks out to me."
Brown is unsure on a timeline for a decision.
"I'm really indecisive right now, I really don't know," he said.
