    Houston doesn’t do a bad job w light rail imo. Carried 14M passengers last year. I believe it’s the 12th most traveled light rail system in the country. Anyone who has driven much in Houston understands the appeal of light rail.

    Wonder if Amtrak is safer than Greyhound per passenger. 25 people have been killed in Amtrak derailments over the past ten years. I don’t have a total for Greyhound nor do I have the total number of passengers riding it. Assume both modes of transportation are fairly safe

    You threw me off because no one is currently talking about high speed in Tulsa. The discussion is for regular Amtrak. I don’t see where the train from OKC to Dallas is any faster than a greyhound btw.

    We’ve road in different busses. The ones I’ve recently been in have been quite comfortable. I thought we were talking about standard Amtrak like the Heartland Flyer and not high speed rail?

    Is there a reason why poor people can’t take a bus to visit other cities ? Not sure I follow the reasoning here as there appears to be other alternatives to trains.

    I couldn’t tell much from the video other than the goalie immediately came running out claiming he was fouled. No idea if the goalie’s complaint prompted the foul call or if the foul was called prior. The answer to that question would be interesting.

    Today’s economic report is about as bad as it gets. Rising inflation combined with declining gdp growth.

    While I believe the changes are a good thing I also understand the airlines aren’t going to sit back and take a $500M a year revenue hit. Wonder what they will do to offset these additional expenses ? Yup…airline ticket prices are going up boys and girls. Maybe not the best move when...

    Any chance they’re looking at the passenger numbers in OKC and determining adding Tulsa would not be economically feasible based on the experience in OKC?

    Just reading the tea leaves from a few articles on the subject, Tulsa does not appear to be on a priority list for Amtrak expansion. Am I misreading the current situation ?

    Might have misread the post. In many schools XC is a low cost sport which get very little attention. The focus in on football and basketballs. Ironic the two schools from which I graduated both have excellent XC squads.

    I had a kid who ran XC. Might be the worst spectator sport in existence. Depending on the course you see them in the beginning and maybe once or twice over the entire race and at the end. It’s brutal.

    Pretty sure the SEC doesn’t give a damn how a school did in cross country. Football rules followed by basketball. “Hey Oklahoma, I know you’re a football power but you haven’t won a cross country conference championship in the last ten years so go find a new conference.
