The board is eerily quiet since the win.I like immensely how a bunch of posters who complain all game long, disappear when we make the comeback. I pretty much wish they would just become permanent lurkers, and never post again. They do this every game.
I could agree with that. To be fair looking at the past 50 years the endorsements from those papers appear to have a lot more to do with their political party than the actual candidate. Maybe it’s just as simply as that. USA Today has also announced they won’t endorse this cycle. Seems to be a significant change in policy for some of the largest newspapers in the country. I’m assuming the real reason for the shift will eventually come out.Bezos wrote his own op-ed explaining the decision, and he (not inaccurately) pointed out that opinion pieces like presidential endorsements can call newpaper's credibility into question, and also have very little effect on the actual election. He's not wrong, and if his stance is "Hey, we're ending newspaper endorsements in general because they don't work and make us look biased", then I could get behind that. But if that's the case, it shouldn't be framed as some sort of historic rebuke of Harris. It has nothing to do with her if you take him at his word.
It's also worth pointing out that Trump met with Blue Origin execs on the day of the announcement of the non-endorsement, and he could have made a deal. The timing of a "principled" decision like that is also suspect. If they announced last year that they weren't going to do an endorsement for all the reasons he mentions, this would have been less of a big deal. To wait until the op-ed was ready to print and then swoop in and pull it raises a lot of questions about the true intent here.
But maybe he means what he says. Or maybe this is a savvy business move somehow for Blue Origin. Or maybe Huffy is right and there were some strong-willed editors that he pulled a power play on just to try and get rid of them and cut payroll. *shrug*
My only real point is that I don't think this move, whatever the motive, actually has much of anything to do with Harris.
We left a coach like that. Two other starters quickly followed and left. The next season no less than seven starters on his new team asked for their release. The club was finally forced to fire him. Not because of anything he did in the clubs eyes but because of the lost revenue. Lots of kids don’t have good options at other clubs. With limited options many are forced to stay in a toxic environment. If some coach did that and you were on a highly successful team (the most successful team by miles) would you take your daughter off the team and go somewhere else? Would you try to get other people to end his employment and get a new coach? How do you approach someone acting like that? Or do you let it ride because he wins and has built a cult of personality?

What I have witnessed the last few games is Legas needs to start whether or not Francis is injured. Legas' mobility gives the offense a little bit extra behind that OL (sorry, our OL is just not very good at all). We don't have the WRs, with the exception of Benjamin, who find space and get open quickly, and combine that with the fact our QB is usually under heavy pressure about 2.4 seconds after the snap, and you get a lot of sacks, throw aways, or bad throws. Francis throws a nice ball when he has lots of time...but he hasn't had any time this year so his limitations are brought out to the forefront.Francis injured his ankle when he got hit and went out. So if the ankle is still not well, there won't even be a question.
How does one "enforce" in-season recruiting?the same toxic political atmosphere. Some of it has to do with OSA and other league orgs not enforcing the in season recruiting rule. I know WSA did it all the time and they'd recruit kids from all of the other clubs in season and guest playing them in tournaments without following proper procedure (which is your club contacts the kid's club and has a form filled out and a copy of the player pass issued for that tournament). I remember my kid playing a WSA team in their tournament and tournament rules said max 3 guest players, and this WSA team had 6, 4 from Energy (Blitz) and 2 from TSC. It was pretty blatant because all the kids know each other anyway and know where they play. WSA always lured kids with the promise of not having to pay anything. But there's no accountability between the clubs for this behav
I don't think exhibition games are on the radioIs anyone here friends with Brue Howard? I can't imagine him not talking into a hot microphone this evening.

Not surprising given the hard left bias of those editorial boards. I assume both are more of a business decision. Pretty obvious their endorsements are all about the letter in front of the persons name rather than the better candidate. So why give the endorsement and risk alienating a portion of your readers in a challenging market when said endorsement is based solely on politics ? The WaPo did fail to endorse any candidate when Dukakis ran btw.
Along those lines, I read where the WaPo was going to start publishing a more balanced paper. I assume in hopes of attracting new readers. Of course they risk alienating those on the left who don’t want “their” paper giving a hint of supporting the other side. Maybe the days of obvious bias are coming to an end. Newspaper business is tough these days

I suppose that is one way looking at that as "positive."I’m convinced everywhere has its own issues. Dallas certainly does. 5 ECNL clubs. Parents start calling other clubs early March. Deals with coaches from other clubs are made late March / early April. Current players told status late April and advised to look elsewhere if they are being replaced. We had 7 new players this past year. NL rosters are set prior to tryouts except for maybe one spot held open in case a surprise girl shows up. April isn’t a fun month in Dallas ECNL soccer. Yet they all keep doing it. The positive is there aren’t the politics down here compared to Oklahoma. When you have a huge pool of ECNL players it’s not necessary.
Dude is a brilliant businessman. I’ll trust his decision. He’s doing damage control. Unfortunately the plane has already crashed imo. Not sure he can undo the mess the WaPo has already created.Hope he enjoys his choice. He lost 10% of his subscribers to that paper already.
